a Ethnicity and race categories are as designated on survey form. Hispanic or Latino may be of any race or unreported race. American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian or Pacific Islander, black or African American, and white are single race and not Hispanic; persons indicating a single race and not indicating ethnicity are also reported in their racial designation. Other race or unknown category includes persons whose ethnicity and race are both unknown, persons who are not Hispanic and did not indicate their race, and persons who are not Hispanic and indicated more than one race category. Ethnicity and race categories include U.S. citizens and foreign citizens on permanent visas (i.e., resident aliens who have been admitted for permanent residency).
